I just finished two more haunted house pieces for a supernatural themed show.

Franklin Castle: Cleveland's most haunted house has a history of murder and secret passageways.


Congelier House: was in Pittsburgh and was America's most haunted house until it mysteriously blew up. previous owner "experimented" with severed heads.

I had forgotten about these and just found them in my drawer while rummaging around. I did them over Thanksgiving last year in a tribute to Los Angeles' Clifton's Cafeteria.

"I am 72 and ate here as a child and raised my son up in here. He's gone now, but we are celebrating his remembrance today." a moving quote from one of the patrons on Thanksgiving.

I wanted to experiment with some type so I came up with these the other day. I've got a prized grouse foot brooch which was the inspiration. The foot is named Blinky after Jeffrey Vallance.



I made a card using this same type treatment.

I've been working on some new pieces for a show at the Integratron in Landers, CA.





The Integratron is the creation of George Van Tassel, and is based on the design of Moses' Tabernacle, the writings of Nikola Tesla, and telepathic directions from extraterrestrials. It is located on a vortex and is supposed to be a rejuvenation, time machine, and sound chamber all in one.

These pieces were inspired by the Integratron and the idea of rejuvination and spring. The exhibit (which will be inside the dome) will be a part of the Venus Rising event at the Integratron which will take place Sat the 21st from 3-9pm.

I had a piece in the New York Times Week in Review last weekend. The article was about Bernie Madoff, justice, and Dante's ninth level of hell. Read the article here.


The illustration needed to have a chart of the 9 levels of hell. Here's my sketch for the final illustration.

I did a mock-up of an idea, but it was too abstract for the article. I like it though and might end up using it for something else.

Here's my book review piece which will be in tomorrow's New York Times. The book, which is about a dysfunctional family in Denmark, is described as "bleak" and "gritty." I made a point to use the Denmark flag colors, and a reference to the family tree, but ultimately this is a mood piece. I hope you like it!
