I just spent the last two weeks on the east coast visiting clients and friends. I was in Providence Rhode Island for ICON7 where I was able to reconnect with old friends and meet new ones. I participated in the Rhode Show where I sold some goods and showed off my new portfolio. Some of what you see here will be on Etsy soon, so watch out!

I also danced with some aliens...

In New York I fought the heat wave and made the rounds with my portfolio, relishing the brief stints in the air conditioned offices. I love to be able to meet new and old clients face to face! I was even able to hit up some flea markets for some new collage fodder. It was a great trip, but I can't wait to be back in my studio ready to work!

Today I have a piece in the New York Times Op-Ed about child abuse and the silence and shame male victims experience as adults. This was a really fun one to illustrate despite the grim subject matter. Thanks to AD Matthew Dorfman on this one.

Here's an alternate that I quite like but the cub scout uniform made the illustration too pointed, and made it feel like the article was directed at the boy scouts.

A while back I had a piece in the New York Times Sunday Review. It was a really tough one about the role religion plays in politics. I had a few different ideas, but none were hitting the nail on the head, as the representation of religion had to be broad. With help from Alexandra, we figured out a solution of praying hands..more than one religion prays right? I think it turned out well, although the politician still looks like Romney to me.

A while ago I did a piece for The New York Times weekend review about the science of the soul and ideas about life after death. Sadly this article was killed, but here's the accompanying artwork.
