My poster for The Aquarium of the Pacific:

In the past, I never considered how my fish got to my dinner plate. I just knew that it tasted good. Recently though I have learned about fishing practices that are harmful to the ocean wildlife and its habitat. Large industrial ships deploy long lines, which can extend 80 miles out to sea and use thousands of baited hooks. These long lines not only catch the desired fish but also catch undesired animals such as turtles, birds, seals, and dolphins, which are tossed back into the sea as garbage, or “bycatch.” Trawling, which involves raking large nets along the sea floor, not only catches everything, but also destroys the habitat. Where there once was abundant life, trawling leaves the sea floor bald and leveled, an effect that is similar to the destruction of rainforests on land. After educating myself about these fishing practices, I can now eat fish that have been caught using more environmentally friendly methods. I hope that this poster will help to inform and introduce this issue to seafood consumers in hopes of curbing the destruction of our ocean.

The owner of this new gallery received and email and voice mail from a scheduled artist wanting to cancel his art show because he decided to give up art. He could no longer create art because he wanted to dedicate his life to Jesus Christ. Pretty weird! The solution was to fill the month slot by asking a group of artists to create work about this subject.

List of artists:
Ryan Pratt, Ken Garduno, Gale Hart, Greg Lukens, Kevin E. Taylor, Barry Wolfryd, Chris Peters, John Casey, Darren Breen, Derek Weisberg, Patrick Marraso, Zoso, Martin Wittfooth, James Kirkpatrick, Danny Heller, Paul Torres, Alex Garcia, Mark Gonzales, Vonn Sumner, Paul Barnes, Eric Shaw, Josh Taylor, Matt Rota, Max Micelli, Holly Wood, Thomas Hurley 3, Baruch Inbar, Daniel Lara, Shannon Freshwater, Pee Monster

My Fall instillation at Art Center:
It was fun writing on the wall.

This guy totally encroached into my space. What's the deal? I like his work but jeeze, give your neighbors some breathing room!
Some of his paint even splotched over onto my work! Sucky!

We destroyed an old suitcase and did many unspeakable
